SARA SCHONBACH

Sara is an experienced educator and counselor in the field of elementary education. Most recently she directed the Child Abuse Prevention Program sponsored by the Jewish Family and Children’s Service of St. Louis, MO, and was responsible for expanding program participation over an eight-year period. She is accomplished at providing professional guidance and expertise to educators, parents, and children, and has conducted on-site training programs. She served in leadership positions on several local, state, and national committees dealing with child abuse and neglect and is proficient at making presentations at workshops and seminars, including making many radio and television interviews.

Sara was an elementary school teacher at the Pennridge and East Penn School Districts over a period of 25 years. Her role also included serving as an elementary guidance counselor. Recently she was a substitute teacher in the Remedial District Program of the Parkland School District.

She earned a B.S. Elementary Education from Penn State University and received her M.Ed. Guidance and Counseling from Lehigh University. Sara is married to Bernie and they have two children, Joel and Addie, both having grown up in Allentown. They have lived in the Lehigh Valley for 29 years.
