OUR EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
The Jewish Day School of the Lehigh Valley's administration
and faculty believe that education should address the total
individual as an amalgam of physical, spiritual, and intellectual
excellence. We hold the belief that each student is a unique
individual and therefore, our approach to a child's education
is highly tailored to the needs of the individual student.
Further, we hold the belief that the ultimate purpose of
education is to produce individuals who strive for excellence
for themselves, their peers, and their community. The Jewish
Day School strives to instill a love for learning in a community
day school environment. Our rigorous dual curriculum in General
Studies and Judaic Studies is provided to children from Pre-K
through the Eighth grade.
The Jewish Day School is a place where each and every child
can shine and excel. Our high academic standards and expectations
assist students as they move on through their lives with
the valuable lesson that they can make a difference. In the
final analysis, the student, infused with the higher ideals
of life, will take those ideas into the larger community
whereby the improvement of self is translated into the improvement
of all. Students are part of a caring community that reaches
out to others through hands-on mitzvah projects in the school,
the greater community, Israel, and the world at large. |
